North American Project Development

From raw land to
notice to proceed.

Western Slope Energy originates, permits and de-risks utility-scale clean energy projects, then delivers them financeable to the sponsors and capital partners who build and own them. We are developers, not asset managers — our work ends the day construction starts.

The work

Development is the retirement of risk, in a fixed order.

A project’s value is not created by building it. It is created by removing, one milestone at a time, every reason a lender or owner could say no. We run that sequence and hand over the package at the end of it.

Seven gates. Each one produces a document a third party can inspect.

Where the time goes

Interconnection is the long pole, by a wide margin.

Read this before assuming a development schedule can be compressed. The grid connection alone runs 12–36 months and it gates the revenue case, which is why queue position is secured early and managed actively rather than filed and waited on.

Technology mandate

One technology we build. Three we will only build on evidence.

Breadth without discipline is how development capital gets burned. Solar plus storage is where our execution sits today. The rest of the mandate advances only when a named set of conditions is satisfied — and we publish those conditions so partners can hold us to them.

Core capability

Utility-scale solar PV with co-located storage

Bankable, deeply supplied, and with established interconnection and permitting precedent in every market we work. Storage is specified at origination rather than retrofitted, because the interconnection request and the revenue case have to be built around it from the first study.

Capital partners

We bring the project. You bring the balance sheet.

Development capital is the scarce input, and it is spent against milestones that either clear or don’t. We structure so that the partner sees each gate before the next dollar goes out the door.

What Western Slope Energy brings

  • Origination and land control in target counties
  • Interconnection queue strategy and study management
  • Permitting execution and county-level engagement
  • Design basis, EPC scoping and equipment sequencing
  • A diligence record built for third-party review from day one

What the partner brings

  • Staged development capital against defined milestones
  • Balance sheet for interconnection deposits and letters of credit
  • Acquisition at notice to proceed, or construction takeout
  • Where relevant, tax-equity relationships and offtake access

How it is structured

  • Capital released at stage gates, not on a schedule
  • Economics set at entry — development fee, promote, or direct acquisition
  • Step-in and transfer rights defined before first spend
  • Terms are project-specific and negotiated per transaction

How we structure with partners

Submit

Bring us a site, a queue position, or a project that stalled.

Landowners, brokers, co-developers and sponsors — the more you can tell us about grid proximity and site control, the faster we can tell you whether it is worth either party’s time. We reply to every submission.

What we screen for first

Distance to a POI with headroom, land contiguity, slope and aspect, known environmental and cultural constraints, and county permitting history.

What disqualifies a site fast

No credible interconnection path, fragmented ownership across many parcels, or a county with a standing moratorium.

Response time

Initial read within five business days. A no is delivered as a no, with the reason.
